Features: Made from 2.2mm Italian nubuck leather and with a waterproof membrane and breathable lining. The metal lacing hardware seems durable and allows a good fit. The boot comes with a Vibram outsole that is grippy and hardwearing, but has a shallow tread.
Fit: The boot has a wide opening and fast, simple lacing, which offers great heel lock and an overall snug fit. It fitted my narrow feet well.
Comfort: For a full leather shoe, the Q2 is remarkably light yet still provides excellent ankle support and stability. The boot required no break-in period. In wet conditions, the waterproofing kept my feet dry, and after full submersion they continued to be comfortable.
In use: The outsole provided grip on a variety of terrain from formed tracks to good West Coast boulder and bush-bashing. I was concerned the tread depth meant they would wear out quickly, but this has not yet been an issue despite them being my go-to boots for almost every trip recently. The uppers still look barely used. The boot’s light weight made a real difference to comfort over the course of a day.
Value: This is a hard wearing tramping boot at a very good price. The leather uppers promise years of comfortable use.
Verdict: A light and comfortable boot for on-track trips, but capable of withstanding tough terrain too. They
provide a flexible fit and solid ankle support.
